Hello there, what brings you here? π€
Are you curious about this special and not so common recipe? π©π»βπ³
How did I come up with this? Not sure I know the answer but it’s something that came to my mind when I was thinking about a dish I could make for Easter for me and my friend.
I remember once I ate my aunty’s lasagne made with pane carasau and I thought they were delicious; even more than the original one.
And then, as I am not so passionate about meat, but I do love Quorn, I thought I could do a vegetarian version of the normal ragΓΉ.
And here we go!!! I also added mushrooms because I love them so much π
So, if you are ready, let’s start to cook!!!

Ingredients
- 2 carrots
- 1 celery
- 1/2 gold onion
- 400g tomato sauce
- 750g Quorn
- 200g mushrooms
- 50g butter
- 1l milk
- 150g parmesan cheese
- 100g plain flour
- 200g pane carasau
- 1 glass of red wine
- 600ml water x 3
Instructions
Before you start I suggest you yo cut all the ingredients (carrot, onion, celery, mushrooms) to be sure you have everything ready at the time you need it.Β
Prepare all the ingredients Ups, I forgot the tomato sauce LOL Cook with a bit of olive oil the carrot, celery and the onion sliced until they become goldish Add the mushrooms and the Quorn and cook until they become more moisturised Add the red wine and cook until it’s evaporated Add the tomato sauce and 600ml of water Cook until the liquid is absorbed and do this 2 time more This is how it should look like the quorn ragΓΉ once is ready. Leave it on a side and start doing the besciamella Take another pot and melt the butter Add the flour and mix with a whisk Add the milk and mix well. Cook until it become thicker In a baking tray place a layer of pane carasau Add on it some besciamella and some quorn ragΓΉ Add some parmesan and do the same thing for other 2/3 layer until you reach the top of the tray Once you have done all the layer cook in the oven for 35 minutes at 140Β° and the rest 20 minutes at 160Β° Once it’s cooked leave it to rest for all day or you can eat it straight away. ENJOY!!!
I know, this recipe was a bit longer than usual but it’s worth it, I guarantee you! π
For today is everything. I hope you like this version of Lasagne and see you next Monday!
